2010 Summer Events:
Saturday July 10, 2010 9th Annual Celebration at the Visitors Center 10 AM – 4 PM
Tours of the Tower by the US Coast Guard approximately 11 AM – 2 PM

Youth Amateur Photography Contest
Submit an 8x10 photo of any subject within the Quoddy Head State Park. Winners will be determined by visitor voting at the 9th Annual West Quoddy Head Visitor Center Celebration. Saturday July 10, 2010
Three divisions:
Grades K-3
Grades 4-7
Grades 8-12 (up to age 17)
A prize will be awarded in each division plus there will be an overall winner whose work will be framed and on display at the Visitor Center for the 2010 season.
If you know a young person who needs a hobby or is interested in photography, but doesn't own a camera, please call us at (733 2180), We MAY be able to help!
Deadline for submission is July 5, 2010
Entries may be submitted at the West Quoddy Head Visitor Center daily from 10 am - 4 pm with a submission form. Click here for a printable submission form.

Highlights of the 2008 Celebration

William Wood of Watertown, MA, descendant of three West Quoddy light keepers (William, Peter and Albert Henry Godfrey) related interesting family history.

Timothy Harrison, editor of Lighthouse Digest magazine gave out prizes for correct answers to a series of lighthouse questions.

Senator Kevin Raye spoke and read a legislative sentiment supporting the West Quoddy Head Light Keepers' Association and the Quoddy Head State Park.

Malcolm and Susan Rouse of Turner, ME joined us for the celebration. Mac was the last keeper at West Quoddy Head before automation (1986-1988).
